Lily of the Valley - Stamping Bella

Hello! I hope that everyone is having a great week so far. We are just about to hit half term - it comes round with increasing regularity! -  and so I'm gearing up for some things to do and hoping it doesn't rain much.

I'm sharing a card I made for a very lovely crafty friend's birthday. She loves Stamping Bella and she loves the colour purple, so I decided to colour up this stamp which I've had for a while and which has been crying out for me to colour.

Perfect timing of course as the Lily of the Valley by the front steps have just started to open.

I've kept the card simple and focussed on the colouring, which I've done with Copic markers, as I need to practice for my upcoming Class Three. I have a previous post sharing how much fun I had at Classes One and Two, which you might enjoy.

Anyway, back to my card. I stamped out my Garden Girl - Lily of the Valley onto a piece of Make It Colour Blending card with Memento Tuxedo Black using my Precision Press, in case I had to double stamp, but I find rubber stamps much better than photopolymer on a first stamp, so I didn't need to.

I then started colouring her in with my Copic markers. These stamps always come with a picture of the image coloured in on the packet, so I usually take some inspiration from this and help with blending and skin tones.

I tried working on my folds and I'm quite pleased with how the skirt turned out.

I kept it simple and framed it with some Lawn Fawn Perfectly Plaid paper cut out with the frame from WPlus9 Sunshine Layers. I then trimmed the panel and attached it to an A2 card layered with some nice lavender card.

Here is a list of the supplies used on this card. I have signed up to affiliate links on some products (currently only Simon Says Stamp). This helps in a small way to support the running of my blog and is very much appreciated, thank you!

Wishing my friend an absolutely fabulous birthday and you all a great day! Thanks for stopping by and hope to see you again soon.

Flower Challenge #8 - Reminder

Where does the time go? We are back with a reminder for this month's Flower Challenge which is CASE a Design Team Member!

I have CASEd my own card - nothing too complex and much the same as my previous card, except I flipped the layout onto its side and chose a yellow rather than grey surround.

I'll spare you all the details as it's made in the same way as my original card and with the same supplies, so for more details you can visit that post - Flower Challenge #8.

Thank you so much for visiting me today and I hope you are inspired to have a go at CASEing myself or one of the other Design Team. You have until 25th to link up. Have a great week!

Spinner/Slider Card with Clearly Besotted Stamps - VIDEO

Hello again my crafty friends! Thank you all so much for taking the time to watch my craft room tour and for all your lovely comments. I am loving my space and try to escape here as much as I can.

I managed to film a card making video this week showing this cute penny slider/spinner card I made with Clearly Besotted Stamps. They reopened at the end of last week with a new release and I couldn't be happier.

Onto my card:

If you've followed me for a while and watched my last card making video, this will look familiar. It's melonizing time! If you're not familiar with melonizing, or melonentierchen to give it its proper title, it's simply a silly and fun challenge to colour things to look like melons. You can follow Danie on Instagram to get more inspiration - she's the crafty lady who came up with it!

I'll not go into much detail as my video tells more - although I confess I rather over edited to get it down to a decent length, so apologies that some of it skips a bit. I've also kept it in real time. I am still finding my feet with videos, so I hope you'll bear with me. I appreciate all your support!

And here's the video:

I absolutely love this challenge, so I hope you'll stop by and give it a go - it really is great fun trying to find the oddest thing to turn into a melon.

Thank you so much for watching and for your continued support. Wishing you a fabulous weekend wherever you are and whatever you are doing!

Flower Challenge #8

This month at the Flower Challenge it's your turn to do some CASEing, this time of one of the Design Team's cards. You can pick whichever one you wish to CASE, just let us know in your post.

Here's my card for inspiration:

You might recognise those WPlus9 Doodle Buds. I coloured them up during the Daily Marker 30 Day Coloring Challenge and finally got round to making a card with them a few weeks ago to send to a crafty friend.

The flowers were all stamped onto Make It Colour card with Memento Tuxedo Black and then coloured with yellow and grey Copic markers. I then fussy cut them all out - I really do enjoy fussy cutting. So much so because I actually forgot I had the dies to go with them!

I die cut a stitched frame from some grey card stock and adhered it to my card base with foam pads. I then spent a considerable amount of time figuring out where to put the flowers. Once I was happy I took a picture on my phone - a good tip if you want to remember a layout - and then attached the flowers with glue dots so they wouldn't be fully stuck down but still give dimension.

I added a sentiment from my Many Mini Messages set onto some yellow card stock and adhered it with foam pads. Some sequins spread out across the card finished it off.

Here is a list of the supplies used on this card. I have signed up to affiliate links on some products (currently only Simon Says Stamp). If you purchase any item after clicking on an affiliate link, I will receive a small commission at no extra cost to you. This helps in a small way to support the running of my blog and is very much appreciated, thank you!

So now it's up to you to try your hand at CASEing this card, or any of the other Design Team. As always you have until 25th to link it up. Have fun!

Seven Hills Crafts Monthly Card Challenge April + CASology Week 244

I'm here to share a card I made for two challenges, one is a Sketch over at Seven Hills Crafts

and the other is CASology, where the cue card this week is Strong

Here's my card...

I like to be as inventive as I can when it comes to making cards for challenges, so I bypassed my new Stay Strong stamp from Sugar Pea and instead found this older set called Teddybears Picnic and made this rather quirky scene. Hope it doesn't make you too scared to get your blanket out, but I rather think the ants are being friendly and wanting to join in :)

I started by marking out where the three diagonal lines would be for the Sketch in pencil onto a white card base. I then took one of the ants and inked him up with Memento Tuxedo Black and repeatedly marched him up the three lines. I spaced them out so that I could then take the picnic elements and make it look like they were being carried by the ants.

I then stamped the other images on some Neenah card stock and coloured them with Copic markers, before stamping the blanket onto some scrap patterned paper and fussy cutting them all.

I glued the picnic blanket into place, and placed the little girl and the teddies on top with foam pads. I stamped the sentiment on the bottom corner and my card is complete.

Did you know that ants can carry up to 50 times their own bodyweight? I think that makes them pretty strong indeed!

Here is a list of the supplies used on this card. I have signed up to affiliate links on some products. If you purchase any item after clicking on an affiliate link, I will receive a small commission at no extra cost to you. This helps in a small way to support the running of my blog and is very much appreciated, thank you!

Thank you for popping along and I hope you all feel strong - especially if you're having a good Easter weekend :)
